Family Hygiene Institute
The Family Hygiene Institute (FHI) is a collection of health and medical wellness professionals operating under the auspices and guidance of the Medical Wellness Association, with the express purpose to promote proven hygiene practices, in the interest of advancing the health and wellness of families across the globe.
FHI studies the multitude of internationally recognized hygiene practices, and endeavors to understand and communicate which of these practices would best elevate the hygiene standards of our families and communities.
Together with our global partners, we certify stellar hygiene practices and health products, and communicate them to the public in easy-to-understand formats, to better encourage their adoption amongst families and communities around the world.
Why Is Good Hygiene Important for Families?
As the saying goes; “Prevention is better than cure”.
By pro-actively practicing better personal hygiene, we can greatly reduce the spread of germs, and diminish the risk of medical ailments befalling us and our loved ones. These are simple everyday habits that advances health and wellness.
Simple Medical Wellness and Hygiene Tips:
- Always keep your hands clean. Our hands touch countless surfaces every day, surfaces that carry germs that can make you sick. Always remember to wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap regularly, especially before handling food.
- Do not wipe your face with a damp or used bath towel. If left unwashed, damp towels are a breeding ground for bacterial germs. Instead, try using a facial tissue to dry your face after washing.
- Turn away from other people, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your hand when coughing or sneezing. If this is not done, droplets of liquid containing germs from the nose and mouth will be spread in the air.
